The thought comes back.
Ask your agent to search your notes. A keyword brings the right idea back into the conversation.
search_notes → get_noteA little bridge for Windows
Microsoft Sticky Notes, connected to Claude, Codex, Hermes Agent, and OpenClaw.
One local MCP server. The notes you keep, with the agents you use.
Open-source. Local to your desktop. Yours to build on.
A familiar place. Your choice of agent.
Connect through MCP. Client setup and local server support vary.
For the week
Find my note about the release checklist.
Sample data. An illustration of the workflow, not a connection to your notes.
From the note you saved to the next thing you do. A simulated workflow, with the details kept in view.
Ask your agent to search your notes. A keyword brings the right idea back into the conversation.
search_notes → get_noteAppend a task to the same note. Keep the original thought, and add what happens next.
update_note · append_textExport active notes as Markdown or JSON. Carry the list into the rest of your work.
export_notesThoughtfully connected
Your ideas already have a home.
Give your AI tools a way to find them.
Search across your notes. Read the whole idea, or narrow things down by color and saved open state.
Review the release checklist
A few things worth checking.
Create a note, append the next task, or give it a different color.
create_note · update_noteExport active notes as Markdown or JSON. Restore soft-deleted notes when you need them.
export_notes · get_stats · restore_note9 tools over stdio. A small, local connection.
A few steps, then you’re connected
Install the server, point your MCP client to it, and start with a simple request to list your notes.
Run these commands in PowerShell.
Add the Python and server paths to your client’s MCP settings.
Ask: “List my five most recently updated sticky notes.”
Before you begin: open Sticky Notes and create a note so its local database exists.

The practical details
The practical details before you connect.
The server targets Microsoft Sticky Notes’ Windows UWP database on Windows 10 and 11. Other operating systems and Sticky Notes editions with different storage formats are not supported by this implementation.
Claude, Codex, Hermes Agent, and OpenClaw are the agents highlighted by this project. Use an MCP-compatible client or integration that can start a local stdio server. Configure it to run your virtual environment’s Python executable with the absolute path to server.py. The setup guide includes a shared JSON example and the settings needed for other formats.
The server reads and writes the local plum.sqlite database. Retrieved notes are returned to your MCP client; its model provider and privacy settings determine what happens to that content afterward. This landing page has no access to your notes.
The server updates stored database content and flags. It does not directly control app windows or guarantee an immediate refresh or cloud sync. You may need to reopen Sticky Notes to see changes.
Deletion is soft by default, so restore_note can bring it back. A permanent deletion cannot be undone by that tool. The automatic backup is best-effort and overwritten before each mutation; keep your own backup for important data.
The project’s source is available under the MIT license. There is no paid plan for this server. Your AI client or model provider may have its own costs. This is an independent project, not an official Microsoft product.
